Secretary Gutierrez Addresses Immigration Reform with Nation’s Hotel and Lodging Industry Leaders

Washington (March 14)—Commerce Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez addressed the American Hotel & Lodging Association, discussing the economic contribution of the overall industry, as well as the need for immigration reform to ensure the continued strength of our economy. Last year marked the 18th straight year the U.S. has enjoyed a travel and tourism balance of trade surplus–$7.3 billion in 2006.
