Gutierrez Says Immigration Reform is “Alive and Well”
San Jose, Calif. (June 15)—Addressing the 25th anniversary of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, Secretary of Commerce Carlos M. Gutierrez discussed efforts to revive the Senate immigration reform legislation calling it the “best chance to fix a broken system.” Gutierrez highlighted national security as the first and most important goal of reform, but also noted adverse economic and social implications of inaction.
